Irish Infrastructure Fund’s first significant investment: wind farms

The Irish Infrastructure Fund, set up by Irish Life Investment Managers and managed by AMP Capital, made its first significant investment in infrastructure on the island of Ireland. Holding a 75% stake across a portfolio of 10 wind farms (8: Rep.. of Ireland, 2: Northern Ireland) through Viridian Energia. The Fund will invest up to €1bn (from Irish and international institutional investors) into strategic Irish infrastructure including assets sold in any future state sell offs resulting from commitments to the troika. It has already secured €300 million from the National Pensions Reserve Fund (NPRF), along with other Irish institutional investors.
