“There is great potential for Ireland to become a renewable energy exporter within the next few years”

Last month, Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources (DCENR), Pat Rabbitte launched the Irish Government’s Strategy for Renewable Energy: 2012 to 2020.  In it, Minister Rabbitte optimistically remarks that:

“It has become clear that Ireland’s wind and ultimately ocean resources can deliver significantly greater volumes of energy than our domestic economy can absorb. There is great potential for Ireland to become a renewable energy exporter within the next few years.”
