The UK’s Carbon Trust Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) programme searches for ways to reduce offshore wind energy costs

Jessica Shankleman’s article on businessgreen.com highlights the UK’s Carbon Trust’s efforts to reduce the cost of offshore wind farm developments. Launching a competition to determine whether there is a cable out there that can double the amount of power carried between offshore wind turbines, as part of its flagship innovation project to cut the cost of green energy, The Carbon Trust’s Offshore Wind Accelerator (OWA) programme suggests that new, innovative technologies could help cut costs by up to 25 per cent to £110MW per hour…
